Sexual Health, a Matter of the Heart: The Cures

In last week’s blog, we discussed the links between heart and sexual health. We discovered that the number 1 cause of Erectile Disfunction is actually heart disease. Understanding the causes and recognizing the consequences of these issues is the first step to improving both our heart and sexual health. The next step is to take action. In this blog, we will discover early warning signals to watch out for, and delve into the help that’s available to us.

Classic symptoms of compromised heart health include pain or pressure in the chest, discomfort in the arms and shoulders, shortness of breath, sweating, lightheadedness, tiredness and nausea. Women’s symptoms are different to these classic male symptoms, however. Women tend to experience pain in the back, in the top of the chest, in the throat and up by the clavicle.  Nausea and vomiting are also common symptoms amongst women. Women actually die of a heart attack more frequently than men, as they don’t recognize the symptoms and seek care.

The good news is that there are natural, holistic measures we can take to prevent and heal us from heart disease and ED. We feel that berberine, which has been studied as a natural statin, is a primary supplement to be considered. This is due to its anti-inflammatory and insulin resistance decreasing effects, as well as its help in controlling cholesterol. Niacin, or vitamin B3, improves levels of triglycerides in the blood and helps prevents clotting. Anti-inflammatory omega 3s are also crucial, as we can’t get heart disease without having inflammation first. CoQ10 provides the body with energy to help us heal. Vitamin C, especially through IV treatments, is powerful, as heart disease has some components of scurvy. Citrus bergamot aids in the regression of plaque. Chelation EDTAs, which are active IV treatments, are also extremely effective treatments for ED.

Performance Wave Therapy is a treatment which involves using acoustic pressure to break up plaque and improve vascularization (the formation of blood vessels). The pressure wave is sent repeatedly into the body, breaking up plaque in the vessels. The body then provides healing chemicals, telling the penis to start regrowing the vascular bed, breaking up the plaque and moving it out. This gets blood into the penis, enabling a normal erection.

Peptide therapy is an injectable therapy that is also available for sexual health enhancement. These human peptides have been FDA approved for about a year now. They work on the central nervous system instead of the vascular system. We have seen significantly more improvements in clients who use peptides than Viagra, due to it’s more holistic effect on the entire nervous system. The whole approach is what’s important for us. Hormone therapy is another area of consideration, due to the common reduction in testosterone levels as men age. We manage hormone therapy carefully, looking at insulin status, lifestyle etc, and adjust them accordingly.

As we now understand, issues with our sexual health stem from problems elsewhere within our bodies, mainly our cardiac health. Therefore, treating sexual health as an isolated issue is futile. Recognizing the warning signs, understanding their consequences and knowing the help available to us is the recipe for healing. Taking a proactive approach and getting to the root of the problem is the only sustainable path to healing. Rather than merely trying to dull the symptoms, let’s heal the issues from the source.
